Fahim takes notice on issue of smuggling of Iranian Plastic Granules
ISLAMABAD:
Senior Minister for Commerce, Makhdoom Amin Fahim here on Wednesday took notice
on the issue of smuggling of Iranian Plastic Granules to Pakistan and directed
the concerned officials to take all measures to counter such type of smuggling.
In this regard, he assured all stockholders especially Pakistan Plastic Manufacturers
Association that ministry of commerce will do its best to save the Pakistani
Plastic Industry from smuggling mafia.
The issue was raised by Pakistan Plastic Manufactures Association who showed
concerns about the smuggling of Iranian Plastic Granules to Pakistani markets,
through an advertisement in local newspapers.
They have pointed in the advertisements that this smuggling is ruining Pakistan
Plastic industry and causing a threat of massive unemployment in this sector.
They also highlighted that government is being deprived of getting huge trade
revenues due to this smuggling.
